About The Birthday Fairy
Every kid at The Birthday Fairy needs to feel valued, seen, and cherished—especially on their birthday. We create personalized seat covers and birthday bags for kindergarteners and special needs children, fostering moments that say,
"I am loved. I am Important. I am worth celebrating."
Our Mission
The Birthday Fairy is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that exists to bring magical birthday moments to Title 1 Kindergarten and special needs students through the 6th grade. Our program delivers a personalized birthday bag and chair cover to school that also includes a backpack, birthday cookie, reading books, flashcards, and so much more! Our mission is to seek a more kind and compassionate world where students come together to celebrate and serve each other.
Our Founder:
Holley Hamm
In 2021, Holley Hamm had no idea that one small act of kindness would grow into a movement. It all began when she asked to sponsor her friend Alyssa Carbine’s kindergarten class at Harlan Elementary. One child she celebrated that year had 13 siblings—and Holley’s small gesture was his only birthday celebration. That moment changed everything.
Inspired to do more, Holley launched The Birthday Fairy in 2022 as a 501(c)(3). That year, 203 children received personalized birthday surprises. By 2025, that number grew to 978 students across seven schools—all celebrated with love, joy, and care.
Today, The Birthday Fairy is powered by over 1,000 volunteers, and at its heart is Holley’s belief: that every child deserves to feel seen, special, and celebrated on their birthday.
